The mission of the Ray County Board of Services provider agency: Providing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Ray County individualized supports and services which allow for full access, participation, and inclusion at home and in their community.
Ray County Board of Services believes that:
- All people are valuable and should be afforded all basic rights and all needs. Individuals should be able to be healthy and safe and free from abuse and neglect, coercion and restraint.
- All people should have the freedom and opportunity to be the best they can or choose to be. They should be able to live a life to the fullest, have and achieve goals, and be afforded opportunities to learn and grow.
- People have the right to live, make choices and take risks. They have the right to make informed decisions, and choose an outcome that may have negative natural consequences.
- People have the right to appropriate services and supports across their lifespan, to fully access their home or community. When supports are needed individuals have the right to those supports.
- People have the right to fully participate in their community inclusively. Individuals should be able to fully engage as valuable members of their community.
Vision:
- As Ray County Board of Services desires to position itself to be the provider of choice for individuals with disabilities desiring to reside in a rural or small town setting, DD Services will implement quality services to meet the evolving needs of the community.
- DD Services will mirror the Board’s vision of the long view and the leadership team will meet this vision head on. Services and supports provided by the DD Services will adopt a model of leaning forward and keeping its finger on the pulse of the community.
- Our vision is to create an environment of mutual respect and caring using Positive Behavioral Supports and the Tiered Supports initiative launched the Department of Mental Health.
The ultimate goal of our program is the inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities into the mainstream of society through the provision of community services which directly relates to each individuals’ abilities and desires. Through person centered planning we assist individuals in outlining their future and provide the supports necessary for each individual to become as independent as possible in their living, work and leisure environments.
