Executive Director
John Hartman, M.Ed.
John Hartman, M.Ed.
John was selected by the Board of Directors in April 2016. Prior to coming to RCBS, John was a military police sergeant with the US Army and Missouri National Guard, an elementary school teacher for the Kansas City Public Schools, and a behavioral resource team member with Missouri Department to Mental Health. John possesses a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in applied behavioral analysis, and 29-graduate hours in urban school leadership from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. John is a retired military veteran.
Director of DD Services
Lori Myers
Lori Myers
Lori is a senior human services leader with nearly two decades of experience in developmental disability services, Medicaid-funded programs, and nonprofit operations. She has been part of the RCBS team since 2007, serving in a variety of roles and bringing a strong understanding of the individuals, staff, and services she now oversees.
As Director of Developmental Disability Services, Lori provides leadership and oversight of programs supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She focuses on building strong systems, maintaining compliance, and ensuring services are delivered with quality, consistency, and person-centered care.
Lori has extensive experience in person-centered planning, staff development, risk management, and quality improvement. She is a certified American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor and a Tools of Choice (Positive Behavior Supports) Facilitator.
She is passionate about supporting both individuals and staff, and is committed to strengthening services that promote independence, dignity, and meaningful outcomes.
Administrative Assistant
Kayla Love
Kayla Love
Kayla has been a dedicated member of RCBS since 2012, serving as an Administrative Assistant and trusted leader within the organization. Over the years, she has grown into a key role supporting hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives, becoming the face of recruitment and a driving force behind building strong, mission-aligned teams.
With more than two decades of direct care experience, Kayla brings a leadership style rooted in empathy, creativity, and professionalism. She is passionate about mentoring new employees, fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace culture, and ensuring both staff and individuals served feel valued.
In addition to her administrative leadership, Kayla is a Special Olympics coach and a dedicated advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). She is committed to continuously improving systems and processes that support staff success and enhance the quality of care provided.
ISL Program Manager
Holli Herrera
Holli Herrera
Holli has been an integral part of RCBS since 2009 and currently serves as the ISL Program Manager. After briefly stepping away in 2014 to work with children with developmental disabilities, she returned with an even stronger passion for supporting others.
She earned her Medical Assisting diploma from Colorado Technical University in 2008 and has held a variety of roles at RCBS, including Direct Care Staff, Job Coach, Site Manager, and Day Program Manager. These experiences have provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the programs, individuals, and teams she now leads.
In addition to managing the ISL program, Holli serves as a Special Olympics coach, a certified Tools coach, and oversees RCBS social media. She is known for her positive energy, strong team spirit, and dedication to creating inclusive, engaging experiences. Holli is passionate about recognizing the strengths in others and helping both staff and individuals grow, succeed, and feel valued.
Thrive Day Program and Natural Homes Manager
Amber Riley
Amber Riley
Amber began her career at RCBS in 2017 as a Direct Care Staff member and has since advanced into leadership. She has managed the THRIVE Day Program since 2022 and expanded her role in 2023 to include oversight of Natural Homes.
Amber specializes in person-centered services, focusing on achieving positive outcomes in daily living and community inclusion. She is a certified Positive Behavioral Tools Coach and a Special Olympics coach, bringing compassion and expertise to her work.
With additional experience in job coaching, Amber is dedicated to helping individuals build confidence and develop meaningful skills. Her goal is to empower each person she supports to reach their full potential and live a fulfilling, enriched life.

Kaitlyn Sorensen
Kaitlyn Sorensen
Kaitlyn is a Degreed Professional Manager with over a decade of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She holds an Associate of Science degree in Management & Logistics from Park University and maintains certifications in CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, and Tools of Choice.
Since entering the field in 2014, Kaitlyn has been committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered services that promote independence, dignity, and community inclusion. In her leadership role, she focuses on ensuring ethical, compliant, and effective service delivery aligned with state regulations and best practices.
Kaitlyn is passionate about advancing supports that empower individuals and enhance overall quality of life.
Apartment Program Manager
Shanna Thaxton
Shanna Thaxton
Shanna brings 21 years of experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities and has been a valued member of RCBS since 2014. She serves as both a Tools of Choice Coach and a Special Olympics Coach, supporting individuals in building independence, confidence, and meaningful life experiences.
Shanna is deeply passionate about her work and finds it incredibly rewarding to support adults with special needs. She is driven by the opportunity to make a positive difference in their daily lives and is continually inspired by their growth, achievements, and happiness.
Her dedication and compassion are at the heart of her long-standing commitment to the field.
Registered Nurse
Jayanna Harrison
Jayanna Harrison
RN Jayanna Harrison. Here is her bio: Jayanna is a lifelong resident of Richmond with a deep commitment to serving her community through healthcare. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1980 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Central Missouri State University (CMSU) in 1984.
Jayanna brings decades of diverse nursing experience across multiple settings. Her career has included serving as a school nurse with the Richmond R-XVI School District, as well as providing care in home health and hospice. She has also worked as an emergency room nurse at Ray County Memorial Hospital.
In her role at RCBS, Jayanna oversees and supports the health and wellness of participants, working to ensure positive health outcomes through coordination, monitoring, and collaboration with providers and support teams. Her extensive clinical background and community knowledge make her a strong advocate for the individuals served by RCBS.
Jayanna values time with her family and enjoys spending time with her two sons and two grandchildren

She also serves as a representative payee for several clients, managing and supporting their financial needs with care and accuracy.
Prior to joining RCBS, Sandy spent 28 years in banking operations and compliance, bringing extensive financial expertise and regulatory knowledge to her position. Her experience and attention to detail make her an essential part of the organization’s operations.
